Service Description

Discover Kuang Si Waterfall: A Scenic Trek The best way to experience the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall is by trekking through a lush forest trail that winds through local villages and offers breathtaking views of the Lao mountain landscape. This three-to-four-hour trek leads you to the refreshing turquoise pools at the falls, where you’ll have ample time to cool off, swim, and explore the Kuang Si Waterfall Nature Reserve and Bear Rescue Center. DAY 01: Jungle Trek to Kuang Si Waterfall from Long Lao Village Starting from Luang Prabang, we will drive to a picturesque valley southeast of the city. Upon arriving at Long Lao Village, we begin our hiking adventure. Before trekking, take some time to immerse yourself in the life and culture of this village, which is home to the Khamu and Hmong people. You’ll also see the work of our Fair Trek project, including a beautifully constructed clay bungalow used for overnight tours that allow visitors to experience local village life and culture. As we continue our trek into the mountainous countryside, you will pass orchards, rice fields, and vegetable gardens before entering the forested mountains, characterized by wild jungle scenery and some graded climbs. In the afternoon, you will arrive at the crystal-clear Kuang Si Waterfall. An exciting forest trail leads you to the end of your trek, where you will be greeted by the inviting and refreshing pools of Kuang Si Waterfall, providing plenty of time to relax and swim. While at Kuang Si Waterfall Park, be sure to visit the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary. Here, you can learn about the Asian sun and moon bears and the Free the Bears protection program. You’re welcome to support the project through donations or by purchasing a "Free the Bears" T-shirt. We’ll return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon by vehicle.
